Successful first show of the season 

 

The first show of the season at Starr Vaughn went very well! 

​

• Sunshine (by Total McLaren) and Josh scored a huge 83.9% at their first Materiale class. Sunshine was so very well behaved!

​

• Obelix Ren (by Just Wimphof) debuted 4th level at 6-years-old with Josh and managed to break the 70%. Congratulations owner Adrian Ward of JAAW Equine!

​

• Nani (by Contester II) debuted PSG at 7-years-old with Josh and got two qualifying scores. Congratulations owner Brandi Compton!

 

Extra special for us that Nani, daughter of Savoir Fair prestatie, is the first horse born and raised at Coalcyn Equestrian by Josh that reaches a FEI class!

KWPN-NA keuring at Coalcyn Equestrian

 

We hosted our second Dutch Warmblood inspection on the 4th of September. All went very well! Many of our horses received a First Premium and we're very excited to announce that our stallion Sunshine is now officially licensed with the KWPN-NA.

 

We’d like to take a moment to explicitly thank all the kind and generous people that have helped us run our Keuring. We are very grateful for all your help, support and enthusiasm before, during and after the keuring. The team spirit was strong, the horses all looked great, the KWPN themed decoration was wonderful and the food was delicious. The event ran so smooth that we finished 2 hours ahead of schedule - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

Young horses for sale   

 

We have several lovely young prospects for sale. They are all registered KWPN - NA.

Good results at the 2024 Coalcyn Equestrian KWPN-NA Keuring  

 

Team Coalcyn hosted their first KWPN-NA Keuring on Tuesday the 17th of September. Five of our foals received a First Premium, which means they exceeded the breed standard of the studbook. Two yearlings also scored well: Twisted Intentions even won the High Score Keuring award! Rhea CCE, now owned by Lauren Carlton, got her Keur Eligible predicate. Quellenperle and Nani passed their IBOPs.

Josh & Goldenboy booked great results Michigan 

 

Josh and Goldenboy won two silver and one gold medal at the 2024 Discover Dressage/FEI North American Youth Dressage Championships!

​​

• Wednesday, the 31st of July, Josh won Silver in the FEI Int. II with 67.088%

• Friday, the 2nd of August, Josh won Gold in the FEI Grand Prix with 69.103%

• Saturday, the 3rd of August, Josh won Silver in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle with 72.590%.

Josh & Goldenboy selected for Michigan 

We are very excited to share this news!

Josh will take his Goldenboy to the 2024 Discover Dressage/FEI North American Youth Dressage Championships presented by USDF in Traverse City, Michigan from July 30 - August 4, 2024.

Additional info on this competition:

The FEI North American Youth Dressage Championships (NAYC) is the premier equestrian competition in North America for juniors (ages 14-18), young riders (ages 16-21), and U25 (ages 16-25). Young equestrians vie for team and individual FEI medals in the Olympic equestrian disciplines of dressage and show jumping. The competition is run under FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body of equestrian sport, and is the only FEI championship held annually on this continent.

Successful show for Josh & Thrasher 

Josh and his stallion Thrasher won Open High Point at Training Level this weekend at the Pacific Equestrian Center. Very proud of Thrasher, he has a superstar temperament.  

Super colt born by Olympic Sanceo

The fourth and final foal of the season out of Donna Eden, the maternal half sister of Iron, is by Olympic Sanceo. She carried this one herself. We named him "Undeniable CCE". We are super happy with him and can't wait to see him move. 

Fantastic colt born out of Dariska

The great mare Dariska blessed us with the most stunning colt by Le Formidable. He is a full sibling of Say La Vie CCE. We are super excited about this one! ​​

A beautiful filly by Le Formidable born!

Donna Eden combined with Le Formidable gave us another stunning foal. We called her "Under my Spell CCE". ​She and her suggogate mom are doing very well. Stay tuned for more footage. 

Four beautiful foals born on the ranch

We have been blessed with four more foals the past month: 

​

• Uncork the Bubly CCE (Ibiza x Don Schufro) - Chestnut filly of Donna Eden (ET) 

• Uber Duber CCE (Wynton x Sandor Jane) - Dark bay colt of Zephyr

• Ultima CCE (Ferdeaux x Facet) - Bay filly of Cara Mia 

• Urban Legend CCE  (Ferdeaux x Charmeur) - Black colt of Indea KS

They are all doing great and will soon be registered with the KWPN-NA. We plan on presenting them at our Keuring, September 17th. Some of them might be available, please inquire with Josh. 

New colt born at the ranch

We’re very happy to welcome this beautiful bay colt to the ranch:

‘Up Up and Away CCE’. 

 

He is born via ET, by our young Oldenburg stallion Happy Al Z (H-Ekwador x Contender). The biological dam is Fiesta by Florianus II x Lemon XX. His recipient dam is Sparkplug, she is doing a great job. We expect this colt to be a very athletic jumper!

Josh is on the way back to California

After a fantastic winter season of training and showing in Ocala, Florida, Josh loaded up his three horses, his two dogs and three little sheep for the long road back to home base in Oroville.  

Black colt born: 'Undeniable CCE'

Recipient mare 'Mother Teresa' blessed us with a beautiful healthy colt by Le Formidable. She carried this baby for Donna Eden, the maternal half sister of Iron that we imported from Denmark two years ago. We're expecting two more ET foals from Donna: by Ibiza and another Le Formidable. Donna is carrying a Sanceo foal herself, due in July. 

First foal of the season: 'Up in Flames CCE'

Our very special purebred Polish Arabian mare HDC Estrella by Esperanto Pass has blessed us with a super cute chestnut filly by our Dutch Warmblood stallion Nox van Heemstate (Expression x Sirius).

Her name is Up in Flames CCE. Mom & baby are doing well and enjoy time out in the lush green grass.
